Photo Critic

1.This photo is of fog rolling over a hill. This photo has many good aspects and also a few issues. This photo is extremely unique to me due to the fact that I've never seen a photo like this. The for seeping over the hillside is amazing however the power plant in the middle of the photo draws attention away from the real purpose of the nature photography. Dahncke has good transitions into the picture from his corners however I feel if he cropped this photo to take out the power plant he would have a much more powerful image thou you are losing the endlessness of the fog which was a major contributor to the image.
2. This photo Rivan Indra is anything but calm. all the blur draws the eyes to the center point rock however the blur causes the photo to look like it is shaking causing anything but calmness. The only interesting thing in this photo is the porous rock other than that there is no detail because the blur takes the detail away. over all I'm sure this is a good image without the blur, however, the blur makes my eyes hurt if I look at it too long, if a viewer cant look at a image for more than ten seconds you didn't do a good job.
3. This photo by JS Wood is not at all breathtaking. it looks as though the squirrel is jumping or running on a branch. you cant tell if this is actually taken out in the wilderness or on a tan sheet that has been blurred. again the blurring of the photo ruins the picture to the point that its not even plesent to look at. If the viewer cannot look at a image for more than ten seconds you haven't done an overly great job with your photography.
